Working Out for Free

A lot of people have started canceling gym memberships due to money problems. Although a gym is the perfect place to workout, we need to understand that there are other options available. Not going to the gym does not mean that you should stop exercising and staying healthy. You can work out for free so let us discuss this subject.

First off, most people do live in a walking distance of community centers or parks. In most cases there are basketball courts or tennis courts and they are simply perfect for you doing cardiovascular exercise. Now the best thing about using sports for cardio workouts is that you do not need much equipment for this. If you are having fun you do not actually realize how much you do work out.

Another activity you can go for is swimming. It is great and sometimes free at some locations like community pools. Through swimming you will get low impact cardiovascular exercise that is perfect for people with joint problems. Keep in mind that during summertime swimming can be a lot of fun and should be looked at like a great and cheap way to workout and keep fit.

Now you can also go for running, walking and jogging of course. These activities provide a great workout as they build up your endurance while also keeping you in shape and burning calories. If you need extra motivation to start running you can always adopt a dog or run with your MP3 player playing music that you enjoy listening to when running.

Now something that is usually overlooked stands in body weight exercises. Your body is actually a great tool for you to workout with. You basically need very little equipment. Examples of great workout exercises include pull ups, push ups, lounges, squats and sit ups. These exercises help you build muscle while not needing to go to the gym. You can even go on YouTube and look for clips of various exercises you can do in order to build muscle with using your own body weight as counter. Combine this with the fact that some activities that you do will act as exercises (housework, car work, yard work) and we can easily see that working out for free is possible.
